Woman who is constantly raped by her dunk husband cries for help

                                            Image result for marital rape
A woman who could not bear the pains of being married to a drunk and abusive man spoke up. Laila's blog has her story below:

Hello Laila,
help me solve this matter that is eating me up in silent. Is it right for a man to sex his wife against her wish even when she is not free. Especially when he comes back home drunk.

If I put up resistance it will result into beating and quarrels. That's my dilemma and i have endured for 6 years now. I don't even know how to tell people what I am going through because even my mum hushed me down telling me that he is my husband so i should endure but i don't know how long i can continue like this.

I wont even heal from the wound he gives me in my womanhood and he will come and inflict another one. Most times, when he parks his car, I will rub Vaseline on my womanhood before he comes up and that's the only way i manage to avoid the wound but if i rub the Vaseline, he will stay up there for hours unlike when I don not rub it. I am serious regretting my life. I need perfect solution to it cus it's hurting me so badly.
Thank you

The existing punishments for being too openly gay are fines, jail term and public whippings.

14-year-old Ogechi Blessing Anyalewechi, a JSS2 student of Eva Adelaja Girls Secondary School in Bariga, Lagos, was brutally flogged on her bare back and buttocks for slapping the Head Girl of her school

Those involved in the incident: Principal of Eva Adelaja Girls Secondary School in Bariga, Lagos, Mrs C. O. Coker, Vice-Principal, Mrs Balogun and four teachers were yesterday removed by the government.

The teachers are Mr Bello (Mathematics), Mrs Tejumaye (English language), Mrs Omoge (Physic Education) and Mr Bakare (Economics).

Their removal followed the investigation into the flogging of the pupil, Ogechi Anyalewechi, on March 16 by the teachers on the principal’s instruction, reports Today.

Lagos State Ministry of Education Permanent Secretary Mrs Olabisi Ariyo said they were removed because of their complicity in the “assault saga”, adding: They will no longer work in the school from Thursday, March 24 (today)”.

Ogechi was flogged on her bare buttocks following an altercation with the school’s Head Girl.

The 14-year-old pupil got into trouble after slapping back the Head Girl, who reported her to the school.

Besides being caned, Ogechi was made to cut grass for over four hours.

Ogechi suffered body wounds and was taken to Lagos State University Teaching Hospital (LASUTH), Ikeja.

When the incident became public, Commissioner for Youth and Social Development Princess Uzamat Akinbile-Yussuf directed the Directorate of School Social Services of her ministry to probe it.

A fact-finding team led by a director, which visited the school, on Tuesday, indicted the principal and the teachers.

Chibok parents travel to Cameroon on verification mission

Chibok-BBOG-Activists

Garba Shehu, a spokesperson to Nigeria’s President Muhammadu Buhari, confirmed on Saturday that some of the Chibok parents would soon be sent to Cameroon. Senator Aisha Alhassan, the minister of women affairs, and Ambassador Hadiza Mustapha, the Nigerian high commissioner in Cameroon, are engaged in the necessary preparations.

The mission is required to clear the air on the declaration by one of the child suicide bombers, as the latest information from Cameroon shows the intercepted girls are about ten years of age, much younger than the girls abducted from Chibok on April 14, 2014. It has been also learnt one of the duo was believed to be heavily drugged and, therefore, not in full control of her senses.

The arrested girls may be brought to Yaoundé on Monday, March 28. The Murtala Mohammed Foundation offered cooperation to the Nigerian government. It will sponsor two parents from Chibok. Yakubu Nkeki, the chairman of the Parents of the Abducted Girls from Chibok Association, and Yana Galang, the group’s women leader, have been selected to embark on the trip to Cameroon. The Nigerian High Commission would receive the two and would facilitate their access to the two girls, once permission to meet and verify their identity is obtained from the local authorities.

Two hundred and seventy six schoolgirls were kidnapped 713 days ago by a group of Boko Haram terrorists from their school in Chibok town, Borno state. Fifty seven of them managed to escape, while 219 are still missing. None of the girls have been officially rescued so far. The leader of the #BringBackOurGirls movement reacted to the development:

Lebanese man rapes and impregnates his Nigerian maid, forces her to abort, then fires her

17-year-old Roda Timothy, was full of expectations when she left her home state in Plateau for Lagos, last year. She had hoped to secure employment, earn a decent living and be in a position to help her family back home. However, her lofty dreams were shattered barely few days after she was employed as a maid. She was allegedly raped and impregnated by her Lebanese boss who later kicked her out of his house when all his efforts to abort the pregnancy failed.

Her boss popularly called Hussein, works as a professional chef for highbrow companies in Lagos
and resides on Allen Avenue, Ikeja agreed to pay Roda N10, 000 monthly. Two months after impregnating her, Hussein sacked her after paying her a paltry sum of N19,000 for the two months she worked for him.

Roda who pleaded passionately that her photograph should not be taken then narrated how it all happened:
“I started working with the man as a maid immediately I came to Lagos. He agreed to pay me N10,000 monthly as my salary. When I packed into the house, my boss was not around but he came back two days later from his work place.
How I was raped
“On this particular day, my boss was about to leave the house when his brother asked me to go and meet him and collect some money to purchase food items for the house. I knocked on his door, he answered and asked me to come inside. When I entered, I told him that his brother asked me to collect money to purchase food items. He said okay and got up from where he was sitting, and pretended as if he wanted to get the money before he grabbed me forcefully. I struggled with him and was shouting but he over powered me and raped me.
Second round of rape
“The following month when I discovered that I had missed my monthly circle, I informed him about it but instead of finding solution to it, he raped me a second time. I then kept disturbing him about the growing pregnancy. What he did was to send me to a nearby chemist with a prescription but the attendant refused to attend to me without his presence. He later went with me and bought some drugs which he asked me to take to abort the pregnancy. I took the drugs but nothing happened. After some days, he bought another set of drugs which I took, yet, nothing happened.
I then became very worried and was disturbing him to find a solution to the problem he caused. That was when he started threatening me and later sacked me after paying me N19,000.
I was so afraid that when I went back to my brother who brought me to Lagos, I didn’t tell him that I was pregnant for my boss. I was just praying that the pregnancy will just disappear but it did not. Unknown to my brother that I was pregnant, he got me another job where I worked for four months as a maid before my new employer discovered that I was pregnant and told my brother.”
Her brother speaks

“Roda’s brother, Joshua also narrated his story to Crime Guard. According to him:
“It was January this year that we discovered she was pregnant. Her stomach was still flat and we had to take her for scan. It was then she revealed that her former boss,Hussein, was responsible for her pregnancy. So, we went to Hussein’s house to confront him but he denied being responsible for the pregnancy. We therefore reported the case to the Immigration Department in Ikeja and on February 9, 2016, he was arrested but was later released.
“From immigration department, my sister was taken to the National Agency For The Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons, NAPTIP. Initially, officials of NAPTIP said she would be with them until she delivers but last week, officials of the agency came and asked me to come and take my sister back as she will soon deliver. The pressure and threats from NAPTIP became too much to the extent that I don’t know whether they are protecting the interest of my sister who was abused by a foreigner or that of the foreigner”.
Joshua lamented the atrocities perpetrated by some expatriates resident in Nigeria, saying “ these atrocities continue unabated because the government and relevant authorities ignore the plight of helpless victims who are at their mercy,”he stated.

When Crime Guard visited the residence of the Lebanese, Mr Hussein in Ikeja, he was not around but a lady in the house promised to inform him about our visit and get back to us.

Promise by Hussein’s nephew

The next morning, one Mr Hassan called claiming to be the nephew of Mr Hussein Ali. He said his sister informed him of our visit to his residence the previous day. According to him, whatever happened between his Hussein and Roda was a mistake and that they were doing everything within to resolve the issue while Hussein has agreed to take care of Roda until she gives birth. He however added that a DNA will be carried out to determine the paternity of the baby but the family will not refuse to take responsibility. “We are doing everything to ensure she delivers safely,” he added.

NAPTIP remains elusive

Crime Guard reports that when they visited Ikeja Zonal office of the National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons (NAPTIP), the Director was said to have traveled out of Lagos on official duty.

A lady who claims to be the Public Relations Officer of the Agency informed Crime Guard that the Zonal director was the only authorized officer who can speak with the press on the issue. She then collected phone contacts and promised to arrange a meeting with the director once he gets back. But she didn’t get back till date. Further efforts made to contact her proved abortive.

Female lawyer accused of killing husband hides under a veil during court appearances – Family of deceased skeptical

          yewan

There seems to be confusion over the true identity of Yewande Oyediran, the 28-year-old Ibadan-based female lawyer accused of killing her husband, Lowo Oyediran. Family of the deceased disclosed this on Wednesday during her court trial where she was seen in veil.

Yewande who is a member of staff of the Ministry of Justice in the state, is facing trial at the Chief Magistrate’s Court in Iyaganku, Ibadan, Oyo state capital for allegedly stabbing her France-based husband to death at Akobo area of Ibadan on February 2.
The accused has since been remanded at Agodi Prison custody by the Chief Magistrate, Mrs Kehinde Durosaro-Tijani, pending the advice of the Director of Public Prosecution, DPP, in the state.
The prosecuting and defense lawyers, however, had been engaged in a war of words after Yewande appeared in court wearing a veil.
The development followed a motion moved by counsel for the family of the deceased, who read a note purportedly written by a member of the family doubting the true identity of the suspect.
According to the family, her identity is in doubt.
But Chief Aliyu, counsel to the complainant, presented the deceased’s family demands, which sought for the removal of the cloth (veil), being used by the suspect to cover her face during trial ‘to ascertain her identity.’
However, at the hearing on Wednesday, the Chief Magistrate, Mrs. Kehinde Durosaro-Tijani, agreed to let the accused person to appear in court wearing a veil.
The court agreed on Yewande’s mode of appearance during proceedings, saying it would give the suspect the freedom to show her face to only counsel and the trial judge.
In his reaction, the Oyo State Director of Public Prosecutions, who is also the state counsel, Mr. Tajudeen Abdulganiy, disagreed with the lawyer for the family, Chief Aliyu, to disapprove of the suspect’s appearance in court.
According to Abdulganiy, the suspect ‘is only responsible to the court and not the people at the gallery.’

Zimbabwean man murders prostitute for not meeting his expectations

Not real photo

A Zimbabwean man, Ngqabutho Nyoni, has been arrested by the police for the murder of a sex worker identified as Agnes Mulazi. He reportedly paid the prostitute $2 for her services and at the end of the sex session he was not satisfied with her performance so he requested for a refund.

Agnes refused to refund the money and this led to an argument between them. Nyoni grabbed a beer bottle and stabbed Agnes on the forehead when she made to run away. She died the next day at Mutare Provincial hospital.

According to a police report: “They reportedly agreed on a $2 fee for a short time sex session but later, Nyoni demanded his money back, saying he had not enjoyed the romp.

The two had an argument which degenerated into a fist fight. Nyoni reportedly picked an empty beer bottle and struck the woman on the forehead as she tried to flee from the scene. Agnes sustained a deep cut on her forehead and bled profusely.

She was rushed to Murambinda hospital before being transferred to Mutare Provincial hospital where she died.”

Nigerians react to Al Jazeera's portrayal of Nigerian women as prostitutes

Earlier today, International news channel, Al Jazeera, published a story and Video on their twitter handle with the headline above. The article was written to celebrate a Nigerian female mechanic. However many Nigerians on twitter felt the story title was inappropriate as it portrayed all Nigerian women as prostitutes. Click on the link above to watch the video. Read the story by Al Jazeera below:
Sandra Aguebor is Nigeria's first lady mechanic.
Growing up in a polygamous family in Benin City, her mother actively discouraged her from following her dreams, sometimes beating her when she would be out tinkering with an engine instead of doing her chores in the kitchen.
My Nigeria is the giant of Africa.... My Nigeria is the first to the produce first woman mechanics in Africa. My Nigeria is where you find lots of women doing male-dominated professions. My Nigeria's women are strong women.
Sandra Aguebor,
But Sandra is the sort of woman that responds well to adversary.
"The constraints, the obstacles, the challenges that could have driven me back, they became my opportunity. The future looks bright," she says.
She has built a network of female mechanics that is spreading from city to city, and training former sex workers, orphans, and victims of trafficking to be mechanics.
Sandra believes that women are better suited to high quality, technical work on motor vehicles.
"Our clients keep coming back - they prefer us because we are determined to be better than a lot of mechanics who take their job and their salary for granted," she says.
Sandra's Lady Mechanic Initiative has now spread to the north with its first project in Kano City where the response from Muslim women has been unprecedented.

Arrested suicide bomber confesses to being one of the abducted Chibok school girls

Some of the abducted Chibok girls
A report from the military and local government of Cameroon says that two of the abducted chibok girls now turned suicide bombers were apprehended in northern Cameroon on Friday before they could successfully carry out their assignment. They claimed to be one of 219 school girls kidnapped by Boko Haram in the Nigerian town of Chibok in 2014. The two girls carrying explosives were stopped by local self-defence forces in the village of Limani, in an area of northern Cameroon that has been the target of frequent suicide bombings in recent months, reports Reuters.

They were then handed over to Cameroonian soldiers belonging to a multi-national force set up to take on Boko Haram. In a high-profile attack that sparked a global outcry, Boko Haram militants raided the school in April 2014 while the girls were taking exams. They loaded 270 of them onto trucks, though around 50 escaped shortly afterwards. “One of them indeed declared that she is one of the Chibok hostages. She is around 15. We are now verifying, because on the Nigerian side they have the names and photos of these girls,” said local government administrator Raymond Roksdo. Two military sources, who asked not to be identified as they were not authorised to speak to the press, also confirmed that the girl had claimed to have been one of the Chibok abductees. “We need a few days to be able to confirm this information. We have to debrief all the men who were present and interrogate the two girls before we can say anything,” one of the military sources said.

How the Nigeria Police treat victims of domestic violence

The Dorothy Njemanze Foundation, DNF, reported the case of a woman who has constantly been abused by her and has lost 2 pregnancies in the process of living with an abusive husband. Read the report below:

Last night, the Garki police station turned marched us out for daring to bring a case to them because they said it is family misunderstanding and definitely the victim's fault. Same police station has been discouraging her from taking any concrete action since 2008. This is her picture in 2008. She has lost two pregnancies to violence in between. Currently, she has been thrown out of her house and denied access to her children. She still current injuries.

This is part of what transpired in Garki police station.
Nigerian police must learn to treat domestic violence cases as criminal acts and stop discouraging victims from speaking up. The essence of this video is for you to know what police should not do! If you experience it, report it.
Everyone should know this is wrong and as long as VAPP Act is justice able in FCT, Nigeria, the police must also help ensure strict compliance. Like the Dorothy Njemanze Foundation page for more updates on this case as it breaks.
The police should never frustrate victims trying to access justice!
Feel free and share to enlighten others.

Secret love letter Ese oruru allegedly wrote to Yunusa before abduction

                                      Ese Oruru

A love letter allegedly written by Ese to Yunusa has emerged, rousing beliefs that an intimate relationship between the abducted teenage girl and her abductor were lovers before the incidence occurred in August, 2015. The teenager, a native of Delta State and resident in Bayelsa state, was allegedly abducted on August 12, 2015 and taken from Yenagoa to Kano where she was converted to Islam and married by her abductor, Yunusa Dahiru, aka Yellow.

According to Daily Post, her abductor, Yunusa, in an interview shortly after his arraignment had claimed responsibility for the five-month old pregnancy Ese is currently carrying, however, he alleged that the girl’s mother, Mrs. Rose Oruru was aware of their relationship before the alleged abduction incident. Although Mrs. Oruru had denied knowledge on the involvement of Ese and Yunusa in any love relationship, Vanguard has reported that the duo may have had an intimate relationship.
In an undated letter, the 14-year-old teenager was alleged to have said that her abductor, Yunusa asked for three things which included following him to Kano; drop her Christian religion for Islam and love only him, in the bid to cement their love affair.
The letter was titled: ‘Pls read & reply me Inusa.’
Dear, Inusa how are you? I hope you are fine and all is well with you?
“Please don’t be annoyed by these words but I think it is best for the both of us. Please please please don’t be annoyed I beg of you Inusa, maybe everyone just have to say the truth.
I want to start by saying thank you for everything if accepted, thank you yanzu, I would say I now know what is going on which you never wanted to tell me but I will say that is not fair.”
Ese, in the letter professed love to Yunusa, disclosing she had refused friendship requests from four other Hausa boys.
Furthermore, the letter reads:
“When I started selling here, I met Abubakar who once told me that he had fellings for me but I can never send because I did not have fellings for him, so I turned him down.
“Then again I met Genedu and I also turned him down.
“Now, it is Dantata which everybody knows that he loves me dearly but I find a lot of faults in him and don’t love him back. He has done his best to stay down and beg about one year now, if I am right, I will never lie to you Inusa.
“Dantata has been begging me to love him back but as soon as I wanted to fall for him you came back into my life. I still know that Dantata is still waiting for me only if I will accept him.
“Inusa I now know that you also love me and I have decided to love you back. I love you Inusa but sometimes I do think Dantata is still seeking.
“My name as known by myself is RITA and my main problem is that if I love you (Inusa) and you also love me what will become of us.
“You once told me you like me more than anyone else, but now I have seen how far you have gone in this case because it is very serious to me.
ou asked me to help you in just three ways in which you said:
“Follow me to my village – Kano State
“Leave your religion for mine – Christian & Muslim
“It is only you I love and no other person.
“I have already accepted the first quest then while decide to tell me that you cannot take me along with you the same day it is very unfair. Inusa why, just tell me why you decide to be unfair.
“Well Inusa there were many other Hausa boys who asked for friendship but did not get it. I had so many people who I have lived with do you know what it means to live the people you had lived with for 13 good years of life.
“Think on me Inusa please
“I beg of you Inusa please
“Think of me
“My heart beats immediately or anytime I see you if you know how much I love you you will not think about hurting my feelings.
“I still stand by you Inusa, yeallo yellow my best colour but one question who made you think.
“I write this because I am sick and tired of this baldadash I hear everyday.
“You should know this Genedu, Abubakar, Saidu are humans for crying out loud. Inusa to conclude this, taught you can solve this problem by just one thing.
“Your address and your phone number, maybe if we have to go one by one we shall do just that.
“No matter what happens I still love you Inusa
“No matter what the case may be I still love you Inusa
“From yours dearly Rita a.k.a Ese.”
The authenticity of the letter cannot exactly be verified.
