Gay man arrested for sending romantic text messages to journalist

According to Laila's blog, a gay man was arrested by the police on Monday, February 8, for persistently sending explicit and romantic love messages to a Kenyan journalist with the Royal Media Services, Victor Kinuthia, telling him that he is in love with his voice. 

24-year-old Geoffrey Mburu had reportedly been sending romantic messages to the journalist, suggesting that he wants to have sex with him. Following persistent explicit messaging from Mr. Mburu, despite being warned to stop, Kinuthia reported the matter to the police.

In the messages, the suspect admitted to being gay and said he is in love with the journalist’s voice and wanted sex with him. Kinuthia set up a meeting with the suspect at his Gatanga home and was accompanied by officers and journalists.

"When I got to Githioro, the suspect came smiling and entered the car I was driving, saying he was to see me," he said.

It was then that police, who were following closely behind on motorbikes, arrested him.

Kinuthia said he was shocked by the proof that homosexuality is rife in the county.

"We have always heard of cases where men are sodomised but fail to report out of fear or stigma but this is evidence that it is happening," he said.

Murang’a county commander Naomi Ichami said Mburu admitted to sending the messages.

He will be charged with misusing a communications device.

According to LIB, 41-year old King Akpanke pictured above, has been arrested by officers of the Cross Rivers state police command for murdering his step-mother’s lover. King who was paraded before newsmen at the state police command headquarters in Calabar today February 10th, said he had on several occasions warned the deceased from coming to his late father’s house to have sexual intercourse with his step-mother.

“On that fateful day when we fought, he came to my house around 9 o’clock, he abused me and nobody was there in the house. The house belongs to my late father and I am the third son of my father. I was the only person in the house so when he started abusing me we fought, he brought a stick to hit me but I went inside and brought a knife and stabbed him on the head. So it was later discovered that he is dead. I am very sorry because it was a mistake. The young man was having constant sexual intercourse with my late father’s wife. I warned him several times to stay off the house which belongs to my father but he refused he always comes there to have sex with her. He has been calling me all sorts of names like armed robber. He had always planned to kill me”‎he said

Kaduna: Secondary school student kills own baby and hurls corpse over the school fence

                

An SS1 student of the Federal Government Girls College, Malali, Kaduna state has been arrested after she allegedly murdered her own baby and tried to dispose of the corpse today February 10th. According to Daily Trust, the student attempted to throw the baby over a female hostel fence, but the corpse got caught on the fence

Confirming the incident, the state Police spokesperson, DSP Zubairu Abubakar said one Ummu-Salam Umar; has been arrested in connection with the crime.

"At about 1.15pm, the Vice Principal of FGGC, Malali, Mrs. Obianwuzia reported at the station that ‎the corpse of a new born baby suspected to have been delivered by a student wrapped in a white cloth was thrown over the school fence. The corpse of the baby was left dangling on the school fence until the police came and removed it. After taking picture of the scene, it has been deposited at the mortuary."

He said further investigation has commenced into the matter.

The boy confessed that it was the second time of carrying out this kind of evil act after luck ran out on him today when his victim reported to students of Anambra State University Uli living in the area; the students, in turn apprehended the boy and alerted indigenes who gave the boy a massive beating.

The latest update I got is that the boy has been stripped Unclad by an irate mob who tied him up and was still beating him before policemen came and whisked the suspect away.
