Nigerian Army wing commander brutalizes Senior Registrar, Psychiatry, Obafemi Awolowo University

We (Graduating Class of Medical Doctors & Dentists)feel obliged to inform you of a disastrous and mind troubling incident. Dr Theresa is a Senior Registrar 1 in the department of Psychiatry of Obafemi AwolowoUniversity Teaching Hospital (Ile-Ife). She is a very gentle, easy going, ever smiling and hardworking resident doctor.
This incident occurred at her residence in the early hours of Thursday 25th February 2016 in her service apartment building situated outside the hospital where she resides. Dr. Okpara, [A Wing Commander in the Nigerian Air Force] who is a resident Doctor in the Dept of Community Medicine in the same hospital where Theresa works also resides in that compound.
The parking lot within the compound is inadequate and as such tenants would have to occasionally call each other (through the security guard) to move their cars in the morning so that individuals are able to drive out. According to an eye witness (who is a doctor in the same hospital and also lives within the same compound), Dr Theresa's car was obstructing Dr. Okpara's car and he called her out to move her car. She had told him she was dressing up and would soon be out but he kept shouting and calling her. When she came out, he was still abusing her and being verbally aggressive. She then told him to take it easy since she had already told him she was dressing up and reminded him that he also does the same thing whenever his car is obstructing someone else's.

As Theresa came out, entered her car and fastened her seat belt to drive out of the parking lot, Dr. Okpara continued barking asking her to move her car out, she told him she was already in the car and asked if he wanted to move it out himself? He then said he will teach her a lesson and went swiflty around the car, opened her car door and held her dress and punched her face several times. The Co-tenants had to run out to pull him away from her. At a point he reached for his metal pedal lock and was again restrained by tenants.

Following the incident he showed no remorse, as he continued in his verbal aggression with his shirt buttons undone calling her names. He also dared her to call whoever in Abuja suggesting that he was above the law as she made attempts to make calls after the incident. Dr. Theresa was rushed to the hospital as being a known Sickle cell disease patient, her health was paramount at the time. On arrival, it was confirmed that indeed she had Cerebrospinal fluid leaking from her brain. This continued to be copious before ameliorating after some hours. In adition to the frontal bone fracture detected initially, a further depressed nasal bone fracture was detected on CT scan. Theresa now has to decide between going for surgery to correct the facial deformity or live with a disfigured face.
Please join us in prayers for Theresa's quick recovery, while we fight to ensure that Dr. Okpara is brought to Justice.
Thank you all.

Abducted girl says she would rather be a muslim and remain with her lover in Kano State.

According to Premium Times, Ese Oruru, who was allegedly kidnapped from Bayelsa State to Kano, said she was not interested in reuniting with her family and denied reports that she was abducted from her home in Bayelsa State. In an exclusive audio recording obtained by the online publication today, the girl also said she eloped with her lover to Kano in order to convert to Islam.

“My name is Aisha Chuwas. I am 17-year-old. I came here to be a Muslim and I will stay here.”

Human rights lawyer, Huwaila Mohammed, who was given access to the girl at the Zonal Police Headquarters in Kano, said upon interrogation, she understood the girl was never forced to convert to Islam. She also had access to Miss Oruru’s lover and established that he is just 18 years old, 'not anywhere above 20'.

“I was surprised when I saw a very small boy. He is just 18-year old. I was enraged thinking that it was an old man involved in the saga. From the way I see it, they eloped not because of religion but love,” she said.

Zimbabwe's godmother of prostitutes who had sex with over 4000 men retires

                    1

She lives in Mount Darwin, the town that lies in the Mount Darwin District, in Mashona land Central Province in northeastern Zimbabwe. She is considered the godmother of all sex workers in and around Madondo shopping center and sex workers bow before her.

“The only work that I have done in my life is to sell sex services for close to three decades; I am 55 years now and I don’t remember the exact number of men that I have offered services. The number may be as high as 4000 men,” Kandeya says. She confessed that used to sleep with more than 7 men per day. But now things have changed. Before retirement, it’s one or two men per month.

It seems that woman likes her life and even lives in harmony with herself. She managed to buy a stand in the town, built a house and also sent her children to school. When it comes to competition with young and energetic sex workers, Kandeya has the wisdom strategy: “I don’t compete with them; I assist them whenever it’s necessary and I have opened a register to know which sex worker is at Madondo shopping center in case something happens to them.”

The woman even sub-divided her house into several rooms where they stay and pay her rentals. Sometimes when business is low, she gives them time to make money and pay later. Share on Facebook Share on Twitter From time to time Kandeya also puts one’s hand to the plow: “With age, I now have very few clients that I serve personally and two permanent one who come for the ‘good service.’

It’s not a secret, I am HIV positive, but that’s not the reason for retirement, it has to do with age. I got tested in 2005, that’s when I discovered that I am HIV positive and since then I have been living positively and now l also educate younger sex workers the use of condoms.” Kandeya also notes that the current economic challenges in the country affected her business.

“Sex workers here are even paid $1 for a quickie and $5 for the rest of the night, but long ago, they used to charge between $10 and $20 a night,” she sighs. So she took her retirement the right time. But lots of grateful clients will not soon forget Kandeya.

Woman files for divorce from husband who duped and tricked her

                    wife sues husband

Naij.com reports:
The aggrieved wife, Helen Owie, who hails from Edo state, asked the Asaba high court 3, on February 23, to recover €550,000 (about N119million) from her estranged husband, Chidi Ike, an Imo state indigene. While under cross-examination by her counsel, Mr Raphael Okhouoleigbe, a tearful Helen had this to say:

“I was contacted by one of my customers in Benin City where I was then trading in clothes around New Benin Market in 2009, by one Obinna who later introduced me to my husband Chidi. I showed interest that I will marry the brother after we had discussed and my photograph was sent to Chidi in far away Owerri. Three weeks later, Chidi and I met and we started planning marriage. In the process I got a visa to travel to Italy and in 2012 I returned to Nigeria for the marriage.

After the marriage, Chidi my husband demanded for a loan of N3m and I loaned him €550,000 and also sponsored our marriage for N180,000. I spent 2 years in Europe and when I returned home, my husband Chidi refused to make love to me for the three years, I spent in Nigeria. Each time I asked him to impregnate me, he will ‘dribble’ me. Unknown to me he had a wife and children in Mbaise, Imo State, but he told me he was never married when I met him. He moved into Asaba after our marriage.”

According to the prosecutor, Elizabeth Ezeh, Chidi has been arrested and detained at the division ‘A’ police station in Asaba. Chidi was allegedly arrested for fraud and was later granted bail. He was charged to court on 3 counts of conspiracy, stealing and obtaining under false pretense.
