12yr old girl contracts HIV after her step-brother & his friends rape her in Abuja

A 12-year-old girl (name withheld) has contracted the dreaded HIV/AIDS disease after she was allegedly raped by her 25 year old step brother, Abdullahi Mohammed and his friends at her father's house in Jahi district in Abuja.

According to Daily Trust, the girl's father and mother separated and the father married another woman who already had a son from a previous relationship.

Narrating what happened, the girl said her step brother started raping her when she was 8 years old and each time he raped her, he would threaten to kill her if she told their father.

“My father married my step mother who has a son. We were living peacefully until one night when I was lying on the floor and Brother Abdullahi came and started fondling my breasts. When he didn’t see breasts, he said he would suck them until they came out. When I objected, he raped me. He used a handkerchief to wipe off the blood that was coming out from my private part. He threatened to slash my throat if I told anybody.  I didn’t tell anybody and it continued. He raped me every night; and sometimes he brought his friends, especially Ahmed along with him to rape me,” she said.

The girl said she feared she would be killed by her step brother or suffer maltreatment from her step mother if she told anyone what he was doing to her.

She was diagnosed with AIDS after her father took her to the hospital following her constant poor state of health. Doctors carried out various test on her and discovered she had HIV/AIDS.  It was when her father, who was very angry, sought to know how she contracted the deadly disease, that she revealed that her step brother, Abdullahi and his friends, had raped her for four years. Subsequently, her father reported the case to the police at Mabushi and the two men were arrested. They confessed to the crime.

Police reports however shows that the case took a new twist when the two suspects were taken to the hospital and their medical reports came out HIV negative.  It is been speculated that the girl's mother was HIV positive when she had her.

“She was not tested when she was an infant, and maybe she was HIV positive from birth. Her half brother confessed that he was the first man to have had sex with the victim and how she got that HIV still remains a mystery,” a police source said.

When contacted, the Mabushi divisional police officer, Chief Superintendent Ayobami Surajudeen confirmed the story and said that having gotten medical reports, the case would now be transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department

2 Girls Disappear From Home After They Failed Exams And Were Not Promoted

After checking their results and discovering that they failed their exams and were asked to repeat SS1, Two heart broken teenage girls disappeared from home .

The disappearance of the two friends, Janet Abiodun (18) and Evenly Apalowe (17), has thrown their family members into anxiety. Nobody is talking about their failure anymore, All the family wants is for them to come home.

New Telegraph is reporting that the girls, both students of New Era Girls Secondary School, Surulere, Lagos, were believed to have gone to hiding because they reportedly failed the examinations. Janet’s aunt, Mrs Olufolake Oyinloye, said she waited for her for a long time, thinking she might have been kept busy in school. Oyinloye, however, became worried when it was night and there was no sign of the girl.

According to her, Janet did not own a phone, so there was no way to even call her. She said: “The following day, I went to one of her friends, Evelyn’s home. I was shocked to discover that she too had not been seen. I have searched everywhere for her. I have also called her friend’s parent in Osun State to confirm if they were there.

I do not think it is a crime to repeat a class. That is why she ran away. “I went into her room to check if she dropped a note, but there was nothing. She did not take anything in the house. I just do not understand her reason for running away.” Oyinloye recalled that when Janet collected her first term result, she had given her some gifts and urged her to do better next time.

Asked if Janet might have a lover, Oyinloye said no, stressing that the girl sworn to her that she was a virgin. She said: “The girl is my cousin. She has been living with me since December 22, 2013; after I saw the manner she was being treated by her father. I told my elder sister to persuade her to come and live with me. That was how she got to my place.

“I am not the harsh type. The only time I would say I scolded her was when she collected her second term result and hid it from me. What my children eat is what I used to give to her. I don’t discriminate between her and my children. I don’t know why she ran away? Oyinloye said she went to Janet’s school to find out if she had committed any offence, but was told by her teacher that after the students collected their results, one of her friends, whom they used to walk home together, told her that they should start heading home, but Janet refused, insisting that she wanted to walk with Evelyn. Since then nobody had seen the girls. She added: “Three days after they left home, Evelyn called her father on phone, saying she was in Ibadan.

But since then, the phone line had not been going through again. Evelyn’s aunt told me that the girl had left home once. She was sure Evelyn would soon return home.” Oyinloye said she also went to Area ‘C’ Police Command, where she reported Janet missing.

Chibok girls: There is better intelligence now - Shehu Garba

While fielding questions from state house correspondents yesterday September 6th, Presidential spokesperson, Shehu Garba said efforts are still ongoing towards the rescue of the Chibok girls and that there are better intelligence gathering in that regard. He appealed to Nigerians not to lose hope regarding the rescue of the girls who were abducted on April 14th 2014.

“What the President has always said is that we don’t even know where the girls are and that we need to go in there and get the intelligence and situation of things and then act. Without meaning to endanger what is left of those girls, you know that the Sambissa forest is being degraded right now.  The bombing is done in a careful manner to avoid certain locations of interest as far as Chibok girls are concerned.  Please take note of what I am saying. I am not saying that the girls are here or there. But there is better intelligence now. In fact, Sambissa forest is under observation 24 hours, in case somebody decides to move those girls from point A to point B. If there is any movement that is suspicious, we have drones, unmanned aircraft that fly around the place at night and during the day. In the last few days,  you even saw the Chief of Army Staff leading the troops and I am aware that in the last few weeks, very interesting pictures have been sent to the President on the basis of which we will say to Nigerians, ‘don’t lose hope on the Chibok girls. I am not saying they have been found or that they have been seen. But it is not yet time for Nigerians to say we have lost them”he said

Man molests his 7 year-old daughter and inserts his manhood into her mouth

Seven year-old, Nneka, (not real name) narrated how her father plays with her private part and inserts his manhood in her mouth. The little girl lives with her parents at Ojokoro Housing Estate, Meiran, Ijaiye, Lagos, and reported that her father would pay her after making love with her.
Nene who is a primary three pupil, while narrating the incestuous incident to newsmen said, “My daddy usually gives me money after touching my private part or putting his penis in my mouth. He touches my private part when my mother is outside washing clothes or when she is not in the house.”
According to reports, the victim’s father, whose identity was given as Chukwuemeka Odunzie, allegedly started defiling his daughter early last year. Narrating her ordeal, the victim’s mother, Mrs Odunzie, said: “Last year, my son told me that his younger sister was fond of playing with her private parts. It sounded strange that a seven-year-old child would be doing that. I would talk to her, scold her and sometimes beat her. There was a time I told my husband. All he said was that if she was acting strangely I should take her to any of these white garment churches.
I was alarmed when one day, while we were in the sitting room, she started touching and playing with herself.” Mrs Odunzie reportedly called her child aside and asked her if anyone was touching her in her privates to which her daughter responded saying her father was fond of playing with her private part and would give her money after doing so. Mrs Odunzie stated that upon her husband’s return from work, she confronted him about their daughter’s accusations, but he denied; saying he would never commit such an act. She then reported the case of defilement to the Ebenezer Divisional Police and the policemen invited her husband for questioning.
“He was arrested later by the police, who gave me a report to take my daughter to the hospital. The doctor said there had been no penetration, but that there is an opening in her vagina and advised that the victim be tested for infection. By the time we came back from the hospital, the IPO said it was a family issue and that we should go home and settle the case.”
“Members of his family were shouting, saying that I had no right to report the case to the police, that it was a family issue that should be treated as one. They pressurized me till I withdrew the case, after which he promised not to defile our daughter again.”
“After I withdrew the case, my husband began to beat the children at the slightest provocation. And at times, he would beat them for no reason. Two weeks ago, it happened again. I asked her what she did for her father that made him give her money without giving her siblings. That was when she said that daddy gave her the money after touching her private part.”
“Her siblings said it had been ongoing for a while and that they refused to tell me because the last time they did, their daddy kept beating them. Her elder brother said whenever I was not around, or I was outside washing clothes, daddy would send him and his other siblings inside the bedroom, while he would ask the victim to kneel down in between his legs and bend her head towards his manhood.”
“She also confirmed that after touching her, daddy would put his penis in her mouth. There was even a time my daughter was caught in the act with a four-year-old boy, who is a neighbour’s child.”
The accused, Chukwuemeka Odunzie, admitted that it was only once he abused his daughter and that he was not doing it for diabolic reasons.
