The Kwata Zawan area of Plateau state, Jos, has been plunged into a state of mourning following an attack by Suspected Fulani herdsmen on Sunday night; killing about 14 people, all women and children.
Captain Ikedichi Iweha, spokesman for Operation Safe Haven, Op SH, confirmed the incident to Vanguard. He said, “12 women and children were killed in the attack and we are still investigating the incident.”
According to Vanguard, the attackers stormed the village which is few kilometers away from the National Institute of Policy and Strategic Studies, NIPSS at about 8.30pm, holding villagers hostage and shooting sporadically.
