Six alleged undergraduate cultists arrestes for gang raping a girl

Six undergraduates if the Delta State University, Abraka, has been arrested by the The Delta State Police Command following allegations of cultism and gang rape.
The Command’s public relations officer, DSP Celestina Kalu, said in a statement issued on Friday in Asaba that the suspects were nabbed in the act in a bush by police detectives following a tip-off by some residents of the area.
“On December 14, 2015 at about 6:30pm, the DPO Abraka Division received information that a sound of a girl’s cry was heard from an uncompleted building in a bush around the railway line, Abraka.
"Consequently, a patrol team rushed to the scene and arrested three males, namely, Chukwudi Ejiede, Emeka Otulugbuke, Ogbem Danul, and two females, Winifred Eyefian and Ziya George, all students of Delta State University, Abraka,” Kalu said.
The police spokesperson also said that the police rescued and arrested one miss Omojevbe Tracy, a student of the same institution, who was being raped by the suspects as part of an initiation into Viqueen, a campus cult.
She said that all the suspects have been taken into custody, while investigation into the incident has commenced.

Beheaded man found on prayer ground!

Residents of Amese community in Akure this morning woke to the sight of a beheaded man at the base of  a prayer mountain, thus preventing the worshippers from holding their prayer sessions.

Daily Post reports that some of the worshippers who went to report at the police station we're detained by the police who later sent a team of officers to evacuate to corpse.

The residents, who spoke on condition of anonymity, also alleged that the policemen left the community where the incident happened and went to the nearby communities to make arrest of many people, saying as a result of this, many residents of the area had fled for the fear of arrest. Another source hinted that it is likely that the deceased was killed in a distant location and was merely dumped at the mountain base.

When contacted the Public Relations Officer of the state Police Command, Mr Femi Joseph, confirmed the incident but denied that the allegation of arrest by the police, noting that investigation had begun on the matter .
