Woman who was stabbed in the cheek by husband is finally discharged from hospital, narrates her ordeal.

The 32-year-old from Khorof village in Wajir County who was stabbed in the cheek by her husband has finally been discharged from the hospital.

As she walked out of Kenyatta National Hospital at 11 am Saturday accompanied by doctors, family members and the hospital staff, Fatuma Ibrahim could not contain her joy.

She said to reporters:
"I thank God, the AMREF flying doctors, Kenyatta National Hospital and Kenyans who came to my rescue. I have fully recovered and am ready to go back to my children.
"My husband used to attack me over domestic issues but I chose to stay with him and persevere. I could not leave him because of our children. That is why I chose to stay in an abusive marriage. I am ready to go back home and stay with my children. My husband should face the full force of the law," Fatuma said.

Lead surgeon at KNH Dr Edwin Rono expressed gratitude that Fatuma was a good patient and said they were satisfied that she was out of danger.

He said it took a team of five doctors one hour to remove the knife lodged on her cheek adding that it had affected vital organs such as blood vessels and nerves.

Fatuma had struggled for six hours to seek help. She had to walk for six hours since she lived in a remote and inaccessible village, before she was evacuated by Amref flying doctors.

(WATCH) 3 Year Old Rape Victim narrates how 30 year old "uncle" raped her.

Human Rights Activist, Dorothy Njemanze, via the Dorothy Njemanze Foundation cries out to the public to help achieve justice for a 3 year-old rape victim. Read her message below:

Please, help us expose what people at grassroots level go through as regards the cost of justice to them. Hear this 3 year old narrate her ordeal and the mother's plea. Is the culprit still in police custody? If yes, why won't the matter be charged to court? We are tired of secretly fixing such blunders by connecting to top officers. All police men and women need to be discouraged from participating in corrupt practices that negatively affect human lives and systems designed to protect humans.

This matter was reported to Elelenwo police station. Police needs to give proof that the culprit is in custody and take him to court. Officer Ngozi should be brought to book too. Thanks in advance for publicizing this on your platform. We would send more content as the need arises because we believe the media is the saving grace to ensure safer spaces by educating more people on what should be.

The incident happened on December 28th, 2015. The 3 year old girl narrates how 30 year old neighbour in Elelenwo in Port Harcourt raped her. She was interviewed by a familiar face and she gave graphic details. Her mum in turn said when she went to report the matter to the police station, they collected N3,500 from her to arrest the rapist and another N5,000 to take the matter to court.

Five men rape pupil for refusing tailor’s advances

The police in Lagos State are investigating an alleged rape of a Primary five pupil, Zainab (pseudonym) by a gang of five men in the Bariga area of Lagos State.
PUNCH Metro gathered that the police had arrested all the suspects, who were being interrogated at the Bariga Police Division.

Zainab, 15, was said to have been lured into an apartment on Opeloyeru Street, where the men took turns to rape her. It was gathered that the victim’s “crime” was that she turned down the advances of one of the men, identified as Femi, who wanted to date her. The victim and her father were said to have first reported the case at the Oworonshoki Police Division, which allegedly dismissed it.

A family friend, however, took it up and reported it to an agency of the Lagos State Government.
Zainab was subsequently taken to the Mirabel Centre of the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital, Ikeja, for medical tests. The Kwara State indigene, who spoke with our correspondent, said since the incident, people in the community had been avoiding her like a plague.

She said, “I am in Primary five, but I am also an apprentice in a hairdressing shop. I was given a piece of cloth by my boss on January 6, and I needed a tailor to sew it for me. Mr. Femi said he would assist me and I gave him the cloth.

“But when I went to him to take my clothes, he told me that he wanted to date me. When the pestering did not stop, I let go of the clothes and stopped communicating with him.

“On Monday, January 11, around 8pm, our landlord’s son called me that Abidoye, a neighbour, was looking for me. It was not the first time that I would go to the man’s house to run errands for him or his wife, so I thought he wanted to send me on an errand.

“But on entering the room, I discovered it was dark and the man was not around. As I turned back to go, a group of five men, led by the tailor, grabbed me and blocked my mouth. They took turns to rape me. The whole thing lasted for about one hour.”

It was learnt that Zainab, after the ordeal, started wailing uncontrollably, which caught the attention of her father, identified simply as Adeyemi. Her father, who expressed sorrow over the incident, said he reported at Oworonshoki, but the police threw away the case.

He said he later told his friend, who then called the Lagos State Office of the Public Defender.
“It is a thing of sorrow for me. How can anybody hear that five men raped my daughter? But we have nobody to help us except God,” the father of three said.

The family friend, who spoke on condition of anonymity, urged that justice be done for the victim and the suspects punished to serve as a deterrent to others.
“This is evil at its peak. I can’t imagine anybody doing this to my daughter,” he added.

Our correspondent learnt that the OPD referred the case to the Ilupeju Police Division, which then issued Zainab a letter to the Mirabel Centre for medical tests. The matter was later taken over by the Bariga Police Station, which went after the suspects. A source said the police arrested six suspects. He said,

“The police were working on the girl’s story of five suspects, but after the arrests, the men said there were actually six of them involved in the rape. All of them are currently in detention.”

The Public Relations Officer of OPD, Adeoba Adeniji-Adele, said victims of rape should protect evidence by not taking a shower after attack, saying sweat was a piece of evidence.
He said, “The rate of rape in our society is becoming alarming. We are going to increase our campaign against rape and domestic violence.”

The Police Public Relations Officer, SP Dolapo Badmos, said she would call back our correspondent, but she had yet to do as of the time of filing this report.

Woman loses keys to chastity belt, asks firefighter for help.

Firefighters in Padua, Italy were left a little hot under the collar after a woman asked them to help get her out of a chastity belt. The middle-aged woman turned up at a fire station in Padua, Italy, and began asking crew if they could help her with a lock she could not open.

According to Laila's blog, a number of firefighters began asking her questions about where she lived - thinking she had locked herself out of her front door.

But the crew were left stunned when the woman told them she was referring to a chastity belt she was
wearing and pulled up her jumper to show them.

Speaking directly to the firefighters, the woman, who cannot be named under Italian privacy laws, said:
"I’ve lost the keys to a lock and I can no longer open it."
Despite the peculiar nature of the request, the crew managed to open the chastity belt by breaking the lock.

Local newspaper Il Mattino di Padova told how concerned members of the crew then began investigating whether or not the woman had been forced to wear the belt by a partner.

However, it was revealed she had chosen to wear the belt herself in an effort to stop her from having sexual relationships.
