Woman poisons her children after a misunderstanding with her husband


A 23-year-old woman, Winnie Daraja is currently cooling her heels in Webuye Police Station in Kenya for alleged poisoning two of her children after a misunderstanding with her husband.
Daraja, a mother of two, who hails from Shibanga, Kakamega North of Kenya, on September 29, poisoned some queen cakes with rat poison and fed her five year old Peris and three-year-old, Tairus, before taking some herself.
The two children were said to have been found by neighbours while they were writhing in pain and rushed them to Webuye District Hospital where they gave up the ghost.
Timely intervention of the police saved Winnie from been lynched by an angry mob as she was taken to the same hospital for treatment.
The Bungoma East OCPD, Isaack Odumbe, disclosed that the 23-year-old mother of three would be charged to court upon her recovery.
Commenting on the incident, the 23-year-old’s mother-in-law, expressed surprise at the action exhibited by Daraja, stating that they had lived together peacefully for the past five years.
“I call upon women living with their grandchildren to be cautious because some of these girls come from strange families and clans.
“If you do not understand them, they can kill everyone in the family,” she further cautioned and asked the police to ensure justice.

Men disguised as women bomb Maiduguri on Independence Day

News update on the multiple bomb explosions that occurred in Maiduguri on Thursday night reveal that the attack was carried out by men who disguised as women.
It was gathered that the three men, who dressed as females, were seen riding on a tricycle that evening. the bombing killed an unspecified number of people and injured several others at Sajeri area of Maiduguri, the capital of Borno State.
According to eyewitness, one of the suicide bombers alighted from the tricycle and ran into a mosque with explosives strapped to his body and detonated his bomb, killing many in the process.
Also, when sympathizers gathered at the scene, the second bomber detonated his explosive among them.
However, the third one was not lucky as the people broke his legs before he could detonate it.
According to Daily Trust reports, after breaking his legs, people kept a safe distance away from him, while he could not detonate his bomb.

It was reported that when security operatives got to the scene, they identified the suicide bombers as men dressed in female clothes.
