Has anybody seen this advert with JayJay Okocha and Newage chargers? Where are the regulators of advertising companies? How can an advertising company prepare this copy for a customer with this image and think its okay. Seriously JayJay , how did you allow yourself to be manipulated to be part of such a terrible and offensive advert that objectifies women, given the very issues our community is facing with regards to women and the girl child.
Is there no one in the New Age chargers hierarchy of managers that saw that something was WRONG with this ad? Are they all dim witted or was a protest over ruled?
Finally to the advertising company that accepted the contract and promoted this shameful message, you are the worst type of misogynists ever; wolves in sheep's clothing. This is how bad the objectification of women is in our cultural setup that no one raised an objection to to this advert, but went ahead and put it out to the public.
The media and advertisers are crucial to the fight against the objectification of women. We contend with misreporting of Domestic Violence, rape, abuse of minors, naming the victims, blaming victims on a daily bases; and are now faced with advertisers accepting that it is okay to objectify women. IT IS NOT OKAY AND SOMETHING NEEDS TO BE DONE ABOUT THIS!
